Notations of the landscape, in gouache and watercolour
In 2012 I was given 2 books, one was small covered in linen, the other tall, thin with a silk cover. Unusual objects, not only could they fit into a pocket, but when fully opened they were over 2 metres long. A perfect format to match the landscape notations of journeys I had been taking. At the time, I had no idea how these concertina books, and others made over the years, would fill my life with new experiences, places and people. But this is what happened through the development of Open Books, with its varied exhibition possibilities.
